The Community Fund
My journey began in 2009 in the kennels of Dogs Trust. For years, I saw the end result of broken bonds: the dogs who waited, the "long-termers" who were forgotten, and the ones like Jake, whom I loved but couldn't bring home. In 2015, I began training owners, hoping to stop this cycle before it started, helping dogs stay on the sofa, not behind a kennel gate.
Together We Can Reduce the Barrier
Why "Paying It Forward" Matters
When finances are tight, expert help can feel out of reach, often causing behavioural issues to worsen. By contributing to this fund, you aren't just helping a dog; you are supporting a human’s well-being.
Acts of kindness are proven to:
-
Boost Mood: Creating a sense of happiness by helping a local family stay together.
-
Reduce Stress: Knowing that your "small win" is helping someone else achieve theirs.
-
Build Community: Creating a more supportive, dog-friendly Glasgow.
How the Fund Works
The Community Fund is a partnership between my professional time and your generosity.
-
My Contribution: I set aside a specific amount of time each month to provide free or heavily discounted sessions for those in genuine hardship.
-
The Community Contribution: When you "Pay It Forward," your contributions help cover the cost of fuel, training materials, starter kits, or subsidize a session or course for an owner in need.
Note: To ensure commitment and "skin in the game," all supported sessions require a small, manageable co-payment from the owner.
How You Can Help

Need Support?
If you are struggling and a financial barrier is standing in the way of your dog’s safety or home, please reach out to us privately. We are here to help build that positive bond.
The JPM Community Fund is a private initiative. Support is provided at the sole discretion of JPM Dog Training based on current fund levels and applicant needs.
Please note: Contributions to the Community Fund are processed as business income to JPM Dog Training. These are not charitable donations but 'Pay It Forward' gifts used specifically to subsidise training and materials for local owners in hardship. We, and the dogs like Jake who inspired this, thank you for your support.
